The English club celebrated the day of the United Nations Organization

14The English club celebrated the day of the United Nations Organization (UNO) on 22 October very successfully. Around 30 participants took part in the event. University and school students were actively involved in the discussions of the presentations about different countries and videos.

At the beginning of the event we had the media presentation made by the 3rd year student about the main goal and activities of the UNO.

The introduction part was finished with the inspirational video about the need of the global world for the interdependence between nations, promoting the idea of respect, tolerance and mutual help.

Then participants had a great opportunity to learn new facts about different countries. In the so called parade of nations students got to know a little better places like Turkey, Israel, Brazil.

A student from our economic and law school that belongs to the complex of our university prepared an interesting slide show with great photographs about Ukraine. And after his presentation he distributed pieces of the cake “Kiev” proving that Ukraine was really a generous country.

In the final part of the event the participants watched and discussed the video with the message for all the nations to stick together, based on the parable about a man and his three sons, who could break one stick and could not break the bundle of sticks.

The atmosphere was friendly, participants during the discussions were responsive, different opinions were welcome.
